City of Edmonton
Edmonton City Council was approached by Indigenous Elders and urban Indigenous community members to consider renaming Edmonton’s newly amended wards with Indigenous names. City Council voted almost unanimously, 12-1 in favour on June 16, 2020 to have Indigenous names chosen for the new ward boundaries. This is the result.
